Cairo, for me, is all about contrasts and contradictions.  The brilliant colors and lights inside of the Mohammed Ali Mosque at the Citadel are a stark contrast to the mono chrome colors of the dry heat in Cairo.  Outside the vista was of sandy hues; mud brick exteriors of buildings as far as the eye could see; and, the wild mangy dog hopelessly searching for some food in the dry earth.

New York Light

I love the timeless of this photo and especially the light reflecting off of the steel.  This photo to me is a poem of questions and wonder.

Paraguay! What an adventure. Found the Legislative Building.  It was an elegant building on the river’s edge surrounded by a shanty town.  I had tried to walk through the shanty town but was asked not to for my own safety by a kind lady who lived in one of the tin huts and a police officer.  In the midst of this social chaos of power and poverty, I was struck by the beauty of this steel staircase and the light coming through the windows.
